You'd never know that below the streets of Manchester is a serene and calm Espa retreat with a Himalayan Salt Cave beauty treatment rooms! 

We didn't want to leave! However when we did leave, we walked from the spa to the hotel (they are next door to each other) in our robes, casually walking around Manchester in dressing gowns! But we didn't care, our skin was glowing!

Décor in a spa makes up a huge part of the experience and the surroundings in this place WON!

We spotted a deal on the King Street Townhouse website that was hard to say no to: 1 nights stay, glass of fizz on arrival, 1 hour treatment and access to the thermal spas plus breakfast . . . it was a no brainer!

I've lost count of how many times we've stayed but this was our first spa experience and we'll absolutely be heading back. We opt for the cosy room most times, it quite literally is cosy, comfy with a beautiful free standing bath and glimpses of the busy city just outside our window. There are Espa products placed around the room which all smelt amazing.

The best bit being that there is a phone that rings straight to the bar and they bring you drinks to the pool!!! Winning!!!

Where to stay in Manchester with an underground pool

You know what I really love about this hotel . . . the chairs! My home décor Pinterest vibes were going wild! There were beautiful brushed powder blue chairs near the spa area, woven hounds tooth ones in our room, contrasting white and leather plaited ones on the alfresco decking area, I could carry on . . . 

The restaurant is well worth a visit if you are in Manchester, Peter Street Kitchen serves Mexican & Japanese fusion dishes and you know what I'm going to say . . . the chairs were beautiful in that area of the hotel too! 

The other winning aspect of this beautiful and historic building is the underground spa and pool, it's one of the best hidden gems in Manchester. Constructed with a beautiful mix of materials and textures, this calm and serene below ground hide-out offers a slice of heaven amongst the hustle and bustle of the Manchester city streets. Luckily for us, kids are allowed in between certain hours and Arthurs LOVES to swim!

A few other plus points are the incredible views from the higher up rooms, the great location of the hotel itself (took 5-7 minutes to walk to Selfridges and Harvey Nicks . . . Winning!) and also the staff. As we've stayed a fair few times, it feels like they welcome us back warmly and even remember Arthurs name. 

It's become our little family's home away from home when we fancy the city life, we'll be back to make many more memories in the future.

Insta vs Reality!

My weak spot is Dior . . . and pizza

I love shopping, I can't even slightly begin to deny it. 

Having Dior on my doorstep in Manchester, Selfridges is such a treat as the brand is one I have followed for so many years. Since striking a fabulous friendship up with Suzie, the store manager; it's like popping in to see a friend every time we are in Selfridges! Suzie runs an insta account called Dior Girl Diaries, go check it out to stay in the loop with the stores new arrivals.

There is never any pressure to place an order but if you do, the event all becomes very extra special! Actually to be honest, it's special every time. Once I literally popped in to say hi and ended up have 2 glasses of champers before heading off to do a meeting!

With the bag of my dreams literally in the bag, we headed off to a fun personal shopping experience with Connie, another insta account to follow if you like to be kept in the designer know.

Many party dresses tried on, Dior bags flung about everywhere and 1 pizza later . . . . here is the day in pictures. From one Dior lover to another . . . Enjoy!
