Urban Surfside || In the studio

My studio has been looking extremely colourful and paint splattered since last November, as we go through the wintry months wearing darker colours and throwing on the layers I'm working on next spring summer prints and colours. It used to be hard to get my head around but I got used to it after a while.
This year I've decided to shake things up. 'Ready-to-Wear' has never been a truer statement, gone are the days when runways used to showcase what would be available to buy in a seasons time. The likes of Prabal Gurung and Tibi are giving fashion lovers the chance to buy their collections straight off the catwalk. Who wants to wait?!

For this collection I've designed right up till the season, and am actually still having fun working on it right now! Several collaborations are in the works for lookbooks to portray the collection, a process which used to be done before the range was released in a very 'top secret' fashion. However it's impossible for me to keep a secret, especially with twitter and instagram at my fingertips, this way I'm able to document the process live via social media and receive a much more interactive response from you guys

♡♡♡

So here is a look in at the studio, it's very current state. The prints, the products . . . . the plants  . . . Everything!

The Wow Accessory || Digitally printed leather iPad sleeves

behind the scenes

Selling through Etsy allows you to get to know the customer and also the story behind the purchase they've made. Recently I had two fantastic experiences, the first was helping a 'bride to be' choose a custom phone case and clutch bag for her big day (shop these personalised pieces here and here), the second was a grandfather shopping for an iPad sleeve for his granddaughter's birthday. What a fantastically savvy grandpa shopping on Etsy!

The iPad sleeves are quite an extra special piece of innovative textile design. They are crafted from structured digitally printed leather and have a layer of bonded micro fiber cotton on the inside to cushion your precious device. Customers have been using these sleeves for all sorts of tablets like iPads, kindles & Galaxy tabs.

I decided to photograph the stages of the iPad mini sleeve being parceled up before it was shipped out, they opted for the Serenity print monogram case so the birthday girl could showcase her initials.

Rianna X Personal Style

Just before I rushed out the door last Sunday to join friends for brunch in Alderley Edge's Gusto I had time to snap my beautiful new Topshop Jacket. It's heavenly and so warm, perfect for the sudden snowy weather we had last week. Of course the usual dilemma is which clutch bag?! With the arrival of the new SS16 collection 'Urban Surfside', it's very hard to decide!

Rianna Phillips X ASOS X The Clothes Show :-)

This game changing event happened last month, it was too good not to report about. Better late then never!

I've visited the clothes show loads of times before but never once did I think I'd set up shop at the event! I went along with a group of sellers who just like me, sell with ASOS Marketplace.
What an amazing and mental experience the 5 days were! It was hard work but I had the best time <3
The sampling stage of SS16 overlapped with the time I was at the show, instead of stressing about it I decided to take them along and work on embellishing fabrics on my stall (photographed below). It was amazing how many customers stopped to watch and ask questions about my surface design techniques. My little square table was covered in pots of beads and sequins!
It was great to meet other sellers from across the UK and also get the chance to meet customers face to face.
I created a 'made to order' monogram catalogue which customers could flick through and choose the exact personalisation they wanted on their RP phone case, these were by far the top seller whilst I exhibited!

Reading List || They All Hate Us

I say reading list but it's probably more of an inspirational picture book.
My very first blog post of 2016 consists of a selection of images from one of my favourite daily reads 'www.theyallhateus.com'.
Not only is their website insane but their individual instagram accounts drip feed me fashion hits throughout the day. @tashsefton and @elle_ferguson are 2 accounts you don't want to miss out on.
