Maldives - Where to plan your dream holiday || Kuramathi

For me, part of the holidaying fun is the planning process and research. The pinterest boards, the trips to Kuoni and the glossy travel catalogues, I love it! And we currently all have a more time on our hands to plan a future trip!

When we decided to go to the Maldives for our honeymoon, the booking process was lengthy as I couldn't decide which island to settle on. Also the realisation that the pinterest dream of a water villa with your own spiral slide straight into the sea was the same price as a fancy brand new car . . . for one night . . . without food included . . . demanded further research!

Kuramathi was our answer, booked through Kuoni who literally held my hand throughout the whole process while also plying us with endless cups of tea, hot chocolate and the odd bottle of fizz! The team really made it special.

This particular resort was great as there were many different levels of boarding so you could tailor your package to suit what type of holiday you wanted to achieve. If you aren't big on dining and 3 course meals you could stick to the 3 buffet areas spread across the island. If you wanted to enjoy all of the restaurants, champagne loft and fine dining you could do an all singing, all dancing package.

There were loads of restaurants on the island (I think around 14), our fave lunch time spot was inguru. The view was breath taking and the food was out of this world.

The accommodation: Our 'water villa with pool'

Can I have my post redirected here please? I would like to move in permanently!

People tended to gather on the sand bank, you can just about see them in the distance to the right of the villas, but why would we bother when our room provided that view every night!

An over the water miniature house! For this 'once in a lifetime' style holiday, I recommend this extra special ocean home. If you love slipping straight into the sea or sitting in your own pool this is perfection. The island has loads of other types of villa if you don't fancy being literally on the ocean. We loved seeing baby sharks, massive fish, turtles and sting rays swim right under and around our little holiday home! If you love snorkelling, this is for you.

Parisian Daydreams - Where to stay in Paris

Watching all these isolation birthdays roll out on insta makes me truly appreciate the fact that I woke up in Paris on our B'day (ours as me and hubby have the same birthday).

We took a road trip in Jan/Feb earlier this year to France. Little did we know it would be the only adventures we would probably have this year!

True to British form, I'm keeping calm and carrying on with the post I had planned.
We may not be able to travel right now but this lockdown isn't forever so here is a little inspo for your future Paris adventures. Following up on my Montmartre post (see article here), take a glimpse at where we wandered to (obviously a fair bit of Dior to follow) and the beautiful hotel we stayed in.

Aim high: bus stop dreams, ever so discreetly edited . . . No wait . . . Enhanced!

The view from our balcony at hotel La Demeure, more info on the hotel below.
When researching hotels, I was completely obsessed with finding somewhere that had that iconic Parisian balcony look. Both to have included in our own hotel room and surrounding architecture. Bit OTT planning wise?! These small details matter to me ha ha!

I was thrilled with the Parisian balcony results!

For cocktails and snacks - Le Saint Medard - Delicious!

Our birthday morning, we brought all our cards and prezzies with us to open. When you drive to Paris it's a bit dangerous, I brought my entire wardrobe! Most of my handbags live in the boxes they came with when I bought them, so they were chucked in the car too! Don't get me started on the shoe boxes that were packed . . .

A little gem! We loved it. The spa facilities were a particular treat after a day of exploring the streets of Paris. Located in the 13th arrondissement, it wasn't too far from a hub of restaurants and bars. As the weather was absolutely gorgeous while we visited the city, we walked from the hotel to Avenue Montaigne where Dior is situated. It took around an hour but we were constantly stopping for hot chocs, macarons & wine; basically a walking tourist cliché!
